This satellite meeting of the International Society
for Neurochemistry will focus on recent advancements of central and peripheral
nervous system myelin.
Topics discussed in the meeting include: differentiation of
oligodendrocytes and myelinating Schwann cells, epigenetic mechanisms,
development and function of myelinated nerves, myelin membrane biogenesis,
signaling pathways and cytoskeletal reorganization during myelination, axon-glia
interactions, molecular organization of myelinated axons, and white matter diseases.
There will be eight symposia and poster presentations: some of the speakers will be
selected from the submitted abstracts.

At the Orthodox
academy of Crete (OAC), Kolymvari, Crete. The OAC maintains a modern Conference
Center situated in an exceptionally beautiful location only a few meters from the sea.
OAC is situated 22 kilometers from the city of Chania, where modern, Venetian,
Ottoman and traditional architecture are blended together creating a unique and

most part of Crete is known for its beautiful scenery as well as the its archaeological
sites, villages, churches, caves, gorges and wonderful beaches.
